Renaissance Training

It’s May Day!  A day to celebrate rebirth and embrace new beginnings.  With a parting nod to the difficulties of winter, we can begin sowing the seeds of our next harvest.  And, since we’re not in the farming business (not full time, anyway), we’re thinking about renaissance training.  A new kind of training that moves with you – through any topic, and into the future.

May Day!

The Reproducible Training Library is more than a comprehensive bank of renewable resources.  It’s something that can grow and develop with you and your organization. Making a place for the RTL in your organization is a guarantee of improved performance and life-long learning for every member.

Reproducible Training LibraryAvailable as a set of editable MS Word and PowerPoint files, each title in the library is a full soft-skills training program, developed by subject-matter experts and formatted to allow for customization.  All RTL materials can be reimagined, combined, edited, and implemented to the trainer’s specifications – becoming an extension of the trainer – an aid and an advantage.  Because RTL materials are a one-time purchase that can be printed as needed, the trainer becomes the centerpiece of learning in their organization.

When you’re training for soft skills, it makes a huge difference for your audience to have a human resource to help them learn and grow.  You can make learning a conversation – something that happens within and between people – something that benefits everyone.  The RTL is your foundation for that conversation.  Each of the 75 programs, covering everything from time management and team building to leadership and communication, is a beginning for your organization – starting new, starting better, every time.

Celebrate a new season with better training from the Reproducible Training Library!

Stay Solid

Change is not an easy thing for most organizations to deal with – especially when paired with conflict.  Maintaining high performance in a changing environment is a challenge, but it’s one that can be overcome by starting with the individual.

Resilience in individuals extends to teams’ ability to handle conflict.  When an individual sees the value in issues or problems identified, conflict and change can be seen as opportunities, not obstacles.  But, not everyone is naturally disposed in this way.  Some need leadership to guide them through times of fluctuation.

A good leader provides transparency throughout processes – he encourages others to address conflict and change, doesn’t shame disagreement, and gives direction after failure or setback.  He recognizes and communicates that resilience does not mean being aloof or unaffected – it means keeping a tenacious spirit and setting realistic goals to improve difficult situations.

Now, of course, leadership does not have to come from one’s supervisors or management team.  Anyone in your organization can be a leader and a champion for resilience – and you can help them step into that role with resilience and change management training.

Our best-selling Reproducible Training Library title, Resilience: How to Keep Going When the Going Gets Tough, is a great way to give your team the tools they need to prevail through change and conflict.  Offered in both classroom and e-learning formats, Resilience can be used as a group training workshop or a self-guided course for individuals.

The Reproducible Training Library (RTL) offers a wide range of  other titles to help guide your team through difficult times.

The Ultimate Low-Cost, High-Return Training

In difficult economic times, it becomes very important to prove return on soft-skills development and training.  So how do you keep your training expenses low, and your return high?

Be Precise.

Design your training around the needs of your organization.  Do you have a limited time to deliver a wide breadth of information?  Has a problem arisen that requires soft skills in seemingly disparate areas?  Is your organization undergoing structural or cultural change?  Be able to handle tough situations head on.  With modular training programs, you can design a unified training session that directly targets the needs of your group.

Be Affordable.

By choosing cost-effective training solutions (both affordable in price, and requiring minimal staff time), you’ll not only be saving your department’s budget, you’ll be allowing yourself time to get into the fine points of your training and make it the best it can be.  By investing directly in content, you can package your messages as simply or elaborately as the situation calls for, and save a great deal of time that could be spent in the classroom, reinforcing messages, planning, and improving practices and processes.

Be Flexible.

The highest return on training can be achieved through reinforcement.  Is your training flexible enough to function as an introduction, a full course, and a refresher – with minimal effort to reshape it?  By offering options for content delivery, you’ll be able to reach a larger audience, and keep them learning over a longer period of time.

Be Interesting.

Return on training means information sinking in with your participants.  If you’re able to deliver one-of-a-kind training – unique content that’s been well-researched and uses methods proven to facilitate adult learning – you’ll leave your attendees with a rich learning experience that will translate to better performance and a continued interest in learning.

Here’s How:

We’ve designed the Reproducible Training Library (RTL) to provide all of those benefits and more.  The RTL’s Ultimate Collection is a library of 87 classroom and 36 e-learning programs, developed by expert trainers, and covering a comprehensive range of soft-skills topics.  With both instructor-led and self-study options in 19 subject areas, the RTL will never leave you searching for the content your team members need.

While each program is complete and can be used “right out of the box,” they are also completely customizable.  The content you receive can be taken apart and reassembled, re-designed graphically, joined with other content, and reproduced as often as needed.  Unlimited-use programs with no licensing fees means a one-time, low-cost purchase of proven effective content that works for you – however and whenever you need it.

Paper-Free Training Solutions for Earth Day 2012

“The wealth of the nation is its air, water, soil, forests, minerals, rivers, lakes, oceans, scenic beauty, wildlife habitats and biodiversity… that’s all there is. That’s the whole economy. That’s where all the economic activity and jobs come from. These biological systems are the sustaining wealth of the world.”

- Gaylord Nelson

What do you know about Earth Day?

The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970.  It was organized as a demonstration by Senator Gaylord Nelson in response to a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California.  It was a time when individuals were becoming more aware, and more critical, of the systems in which they lived – seeking not perfection, but plasticity and growth. Protest and demonstration were becoming a more commonplace and more necessary medium for large scale reform and change.  The spirit of Earth Day was – and continues to be – one of a great individual responsibility; reaching out to likeminded others in the hope that organizing a large enough discreet mass can effect change on a global scale.

How is HRDQ taking responsibility?

Our commitment to life-long learning works hand-in-hand with a commitment to sustainable practices and to being active, critical citizens. Our strategic initiative to maintain an environmentally friendly business includes a partnership with CarbonFund (a non-profit organization that provides certified carbon offsets and greenhouse gas reductions to individuals, businesses, and organizations) as well as internal measures to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

We are making electronic solutions a priority and choosing the most environmentally responsible materials for our products. We are:

    • Working towards the creation of e-learning alternatives and digital formatting for training materials.  Our Reproducible Training Library offers a full range of training solutions in digital format – cutting down on the need for printed materials while still delivering quality experiential content that is ready-to-train.
    • Getting rid of CDs, plastic cases, and other petroleum-based materials and delivering a digital solution where possible.  With HRDQ’s Online Assessment Center, you can have participants take a digital version of the assessments we offer, and get instant, accurate results with automated scoring.
    • Moving away from direct mail in favor of email and web promotions and interactive digital catalogs (sign up for email here, and view our digital catalog here).

How can you reduce waste in your training?

Even the smallest measures are a great help to the environment.  Something as simple as switching to online assessments to cut down on the use of paper and inks, or even choosing to purchase materials that you receive electronically (to reduce the fuel and packaging impact of shipping), makes a difference.  And, extending those gestures to those you train may inspire them to start making changes of their own.

We are proud to partner with CarbonFund.org to offset our carbon imprint, transition to an energy-clean future, and minimize our impact on the Earth.
